The Itinerary
Arrival in Sri Lanka
Arrive in Sri Lanka and meet your Mango Vacations representative. Transfer to Negombo (approximately 30 minutes) and enjoy a leisurely first day to unwind and soak up the warm Sri Lankan atmosphere.
Sigiriya & Dambulla
After breakfast, check out and transfer to Sigiriya. En route, visit the UNESCO World Heritage Site of Sigiriya Lion Rock — an ancient rock fortress rising dramatically from the jungle — and the magnificent Dambulla Cave Temple. Optional Ayurvedic herbal massage at the hotel.
Polonnaruwa, Village Life & Live Music Safari
Explore the ancient ruins of Polonnaruwa, then experience village life in the surrounding countryside. Later, enjoy a thrilling jeep safari in Minneriya or Kaudulla National Park. In the evening, enjoy a very special musical show with Ben Waters and meet local musicians.
Kandy & Cultural Encounters
Travel to Kandy, stopping en route at a Hindu temple and a renowned spice garden in Matale. In Kandy, enjoy a city tour, visit the sacred Temple of the Tooth, and attend a cultural dance show. Learn about Sri Lankan traditional music and instruments, and meet local musicians. Dinner at Slightly Chilled Restaurant & Bar with live music.
Tea Country
After breakfast, transfer to Nuwara Eliya — the heart of Sri Lanka's famous tea country. En route, visit the Royal Botanical Gardens, Peradeniya. Later, enjoy a city tour and visit a tea plantation and factory to discover how the world's finest teas are made.
Scenic Train Journey to Ella
Check out and transfer to Ella. Take the famous train ride from Nanu Oya to Ella — one of the world's most scenic rail journeys, winding through lush tea estates and misty mountain valleys. Visit Nine Arch Bridge and Ravana Waterfall. A special train experience over Nine Arch Bridge with live calypso music adds to the magic.
Yala Safari Adventure
Transfer to Tissamaharama. Optional hike to Little Adam's Peak before heading on a jeep safari in the legendary Yala National Park — one of the best places on earth for leopard sightings, alongside elephants, crocodiles, and a spectacular array of birdlife. Later, visit Tissa Ancient Temple and enjoy a lake tour, followed by a BBQ dinner.
Mirissa Beach Escape
Transfer to Mirissa for two glorious days of sun, sea, and relaxation on one of Sri Lanka's most beautiful beaches. Visit Coconut Tree Hill, enjoy a whale watching tour on the Indian Ocean, and soak up the atmosphere at an evening beach party. This stretch of the trip is pure bliss.
Galle, Madu River & Bentota
Transfer to Bentota. En route, visit the iconic Galle Fort and the famous stilt fishermen — one of the most photographed scenes in all of Sri Lanka. Continue with a boat safari on the Madu Ganga river and a visit to a turtle hatchery in Kosgoda. In the evening, enjoy a very special musical event arranged on the hotel beach or aboard a private yacht, with drinks and cocktails.
Beach Day
A full day to relax and enjoy your beautiful beach resort at leisure. Swim, sunbathe, explore the local area, or simply do absolutely nothing. You've earned it.
Colombo & Departure
After a final breakfast, check out and transfer to the airport via a Colombo city tour — a fitting finale to a truly extraordinary journey through one of Asia's most magical islands.
